New Venture Crew to Form in Western Monongalia County
Living History for Boys & Girls 14 and Older
Venture Crew 1776 is forming in Western Monongalia County sponsored by Buckeye United Methodist Church. The crew is a co-ed branch of the Boy Scouts of America that allows boys and girls ages 14 and older to learn more about outdoor skills, community volunteerism, and civic responsibility. The Crew will be involved in "Living History" concentrating on the skills and lifestyle of America's early settlers prior to the year 1840.
Rockforge Arts will assist in the leadership and donate historically correct materials for the members as well as offer classes. For more information on how you can participate contact

Recipe of the Month
Mountaineer Squirrel Pie
INGRDIENTS
Filling:
2 1/2 cups cubed cooked squirrel
2 cups cubed red potatoes
1 1/2 cup mixed peas & carrots
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon chicken bullion granules
1 large egg
1 prepared 12" pie crust and top
Heat oven to 375 F. Have pie crust defrosted.
In skillet, combine filling ingredients. bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Remove from heat & Spoon evenly into prepared crust. beat egg in separate bowl, coat edges of piecrust and apply crust top. squeeze the edgesof the topper gently onto the top of the pie. Bake for 30 to 35
min., or until crust is golden brown.
Makes 6 servings.
